BIOS COCA COLA WORLD RECORD DIVES 2004

INCL. WORLD PREMIERE OF "THE FREEDIVER" MOVIE

10 days to go.

Between 10th - 12th September 2004, four (4) World Record attempts will be made by World Champion freedivers Martin Stepanek of the Czech Republic, Herbert Nitsch from Austria and Fred Buyle of Belgium on the Greek island of Spetses.

Divers will attempt depths as deep as 130 meters (429 feet) and return to the surface on a single breath of air to break existing world records in the CONSTANT WEIGHT, FREE IMMERSION, CONSTANT WEIGHT WITHOUT FINS and VARIABLE WEIGHT categories.

Athletes have now reached several times depths beyond -100 meters during the daily training sessions. Martin Stepanek of Czech Republic fulfilled all required prerequisites for the world record attempts in Constant Weight and Free Immersion by diving to -100m in both disciplines.

The majority of the safety dive team arrived in Spetses. Underwater media divers for film and photo have arrived and started work. A film documentary is being produced.

On the evening of 10th Sept, BIOS presents the world premiere of the feature film THE FREEDIVER. Starring Alki David, Dominique Swain, Camilla Rutherford, James Fox, Adam Baldwin and Judd Nelson.

GETTING TO SPETSES AND WHAT TO DO ONCE GETTING THERE.

Two PRESS BOATS are organised to transport members of the press to and from the dive site leaving from the main harbour ŇDappiaÓ.

Spectators are very welcome and can attend with their own boat or can come with a local sea taxi but must not come closer to record site than 50 meters.
