THE FREEDIVER MOVIE

ON THE evening OF Friday 10th September 2004, BIOS will host an informal party at the outdoor Marina Cinema. This will be followed by the world premiere OF the feature film THE FREEDIVER, starring Alki David, James Fox, Camilla Rutherford, Dominique Swain and Judd Nelson.

SEE THE TRAILER

THE FREEDIVER – FEATURE FILM

90 minutes – 35 mm – Dolby SR

THE FREEDIVER is based on a true and tragic story of a young Greek woman Danai Varveri, who is plucked from obscurity and brought to the idyllic island of Spetses, where she is trained at the BIOS Institute to become the undisputed men and women’s freediving champion of the world.

The film is written and directed by Alki David who also stars in the movie alongside Camilla Rutherford, Dominique Swain, Judd Nelson, Adam Baldwin and James Fox. Camilla Rutherford is best known for her role in 'Gosford Park' whilst James Fox is a legendary actor in his field having starred in films such 'The Patriot Games' and 'Remains Of The Day'. Dominique is best known for her role as Lolita in the film version starring Jeremy Irons as well as her role as John Travolta’s daughter in ‘Face off’. Judd Nelson is a cult actor from his days in the brat pack and Adam Baldwin is perhaps best known for his roles as Animal in Stanley Kubrick’s, ‘Full Metal Jacket‘, ‘Independence Day’ and cult TV show ‘The X-Files’. Adam has also been cast in the lead role in the forthcoming Hollywood film ‘Serenity’.

In real-life Alki David trained and organised the real Danai Varveri’s 1998 World Record.
