the Association of Friends of Freediving (O.F.E.K.) in Limassol, which was established 1996 and presently has 50 members. |

TIME |
In January 2003 the club organised the 1st Pan Cypriot Apnea Championship. The reason for this competition was to establish other Apnea disciplines in Cyprus, to form a national team, to select the best Nationals, all in order to represent Cyprus in the international freediving scene. |

RULES, SAFETY |
The event was held under strict AIDA rules. This included two AIDA judges, two dive medics, a standby ambulance, ready medical kit and oxygen, topside and underwater video coverage and continuous attendance of a safety diver for each competitor at all phases from warm up to actual competition. Throughout the competition no emergencies arose and the whole operation run smoothly due to a well organised championship. |

STATIC APNEA COMPETITION |
Beginning competition was the static category. Winner in this class was Savvas Savva from Limassol holding his breath for 5 minutes 24 seconds 09 hundreds receiving 104.3 points. |

DYNAMIC APNEA COMPETITION |
Second competition part was held in Dynamic Apnea. winner Savvas Savva with a distance under water on one breath for 88 meters collecting another 44 points. |

RESULT |
The 1st official Cyprus title overall went to the outstanding winner Savvas Savva who reached 148.3 points and who became the top champion in the 1st Pan Cypriot Apnea Championship. |
