EDUCATION

AT age fifteen he signed on to a vessel in Hamburg, Germany to begin a career in the merchant marine. eventually graduating through different jobs on cargo ships, he attended the necessary training, schools and universities in Germany accompanied by some years at sea. He finished his sailing profession as Chief Officer with Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.

The beginning diving career he spent in the cruel waters of the North Sea, Baltic Sea and especially in northern deep black water lakes of Germany being the first to research LAKES IN EAST GERMANY after GERMANY'S REUNIFICATION. 

In the USA he joined the  underwater team on the famous “ATOCHA”-wreck and was later introduced to the deep world of technical diving. This first encounter lead to an apprenticeship with some of the most experienced and highly acclaimed professional divers on this planet thus laying the foundation for a solid education. Among them were Velora Peacock, Billy Deans, Dave Thompson AND Kevin Gurr.

he further received commercial dive training at the underwater centre in fort William - Scotland - uk.

Since then Axel Schoeller has and continues to travel the world underwater.

CAREER

As a professional deep diver he has been involved in very diverse and sometimes life threatening projects in Honduras, Tahiti, South Africa, France, usa, Indonesia, CANADA, Britain, Finland, Germany, Namibia, Denmark, Italy and Cyprus.

during the course of his international dive projects and working as commercial diver, he SPECIALISED in DEEP DIVING, DIVE PROJECT MANAGEMENT, MEDIA SERVICES, SCIENCE APPLICATIONS AND the use of  research, search and salvage technology including side scan sonar, magnetometer and ROV operations. 

Not only was he a pioneer of EXTENDED RANGE  diving in Cyprus but many within the industry argue that Axel Schoeller's skills set remain unique on the island.

Settling in Cyprus he soon established aquatec – innerspace missions + operations ltd., offshore- and local companies, which are the base of his commercial under water work. 

Inspired by demand he has included other marine business projects, which have evolved out of the diving business.
